Martinmas celebrates the Fest of Saint Martin, known for sharing his cloak with a poor beggarman at the city gate. In the Western hemisphere, this festival comes as the seasons change, the days grow shorter, and the Earth prepares for her Winter sleep. It serves to remind us that, no matter how dark things may seem, there is always a spark of light, a glimmer of hope, to be found in each one of us.
This collection is not a circle time - it is five songs for use in your own family or classroom celebrations and lantern walks. This set focuses especially on African and African American music.
