Prior to the world-wide coronavirus pandemic, I was a working musician - singing and accompanying for area churches and schools and teaching private lessons in voice and piano. I am fortunate to still be able to help support my family doing at least part of what I love - helping people all over the world through Hearth & Gnome.

My first curriculum, Music Unfolds, was co-authored with Melisa Nielsen and originally published by Waldorf Essentials. With Melisa's encouragement, I started Hearth & Gnome to share not only Music Unfolds with families interested in the Waldorf pedagogy, but to share additional work that is not purely Waldorf, but Waldorf-inspired. I love blending the most beautiful elements of Waldorf with mainstream education and sharing them in my own teaching practice, but here as well.
